The data suggest that colchicine pretreatment leads to significant inhibition of hepatobiliary excretion in CCl4 treated rats. Serum alanine transaminase and aspartate transaminase levels were elevated significantly after the colchicine + CCl4 combination, indicating hepatic injury.
