Ethambutol - Interactions and Warnings

Ethambutol produced significant decreases in heart copper, kidney zinc, plasma zinc, and liver copper and zinc not due to the associated reduced food intake. Results support the hypothesis that chelating drugs such as Ethambutol may alter trace metal metabolism.

The antituberculosis agents ethambutol and isoniazid have been implicated as causes of reduced acuity, visual field defects, and disturbances of color vision.
