Factoids
Hawaiian plantations produce almost a third of the world's crop and supply 60 percent of canned pineapple products.

Christopher Columbus was the first person to introduce pineapples to Europe.

Pineapples are grown from the crowns or tops of other pineapples.

They are grown in Hawaii, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

Pineapples take about eighteen months to grow and are an excellent source of vitamin C.
